Champions League Group Stage Preview, Standings and Odds

The Champions League Group stages commence shortly with Europe’s elite clubs battling it out for the most coveted prize in club football. Pep Guardiola’s Man City are the favourites to get their hands on old big ears, with Barcelona and Liverpool just behind. Looks like we are in for a competitive year with strong contenders such as Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich, all among the favourites. Check out all the group stage odds and keep an eye on the standings as the action unfolds.

Champions League Group A Standings and Fixtures

Real Madrid (1.82) start as favourites to win Group A followed by Paris SG (1.90), who saw their odds boosted after the arrival of Icardi from Inter on deadline day, whilst also managing to keep hold of Neymar during the summer. Turkish giants Galatasaray (51.00), who have acquired the services of experienced Colombian striker Falcao this summer, come next, with Belgian minnows Club Brugge (61.00) completing the group.

Champions League Group B Standings and Fixtures

Bayern Munich (1.55) are the clear favorites to win Group B given their rich history in this competition. They strengthened heavily during the summer in all departments with the latest signing, Coutinho, expected to be the last piece of the jigsaw for Kovac. Last season’s finalist, Tottenham (2.50) are next, after acquiring the likes of Ndombele and Lo Celso followed by Greek side Olympiacos (21.00) and Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda (51.00). 

Champions League Group c Standings and Fixtures

Man City (1.05) are the overwhelming favourites to finish as winners of Group C, as Pep Guardiola’s side once again find themselves chasing this much elusive trophy. Ukrainian Champions, Shakhtar Donetsk (15.00) and newbies Atalanta (15.00) follow suit, with Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb (41.00) completing what should be a very easy group for the citizens to run away with. 

Champions League Group D Standings and Fixtures

After strengthening heavily in the summer what was an already very good squad with the likes of De Ligt, Danilo, Rabiot and Ramsey, Juventus (1.60) find themselves as favourites to win Group D. Atletico Madrid (2.50), who have had a perfect start to La Liga with club-record signing Joao Felix having an impressive start are next, followed by German side Bayer Leverkusen (13.00). Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow (67.00) complete this tough group. 

Champions League Group E Standings and Fixtures

Last season’s Champions, Liverpool (1.57) are the favourites to win this group despite not making any big-name signings in the summer. Italian side Napoli (2.50), who are managed by a serial winner of this competition Ancelotti, come next. Austrian side RB Salzburg (15.00) will most likely be competing with Belgian side Genk (101.00) for 3rd place which guarantees a place in the Europa League. 

Champions League Group F Standings and Fixtures

Group F is one of the most competitive groups this year, with Spanish giants Barcelona (1.40) starting as favourites to finish as winners, with captain Messi declaring once again that this trophy is their main objective this season. Borussia Dortmund (4.75) will have to see off Inter Milan (5.50) for the remaining spot, with the Italians overhauling their squad in the summer following the arrival of the charismatic Conte. Czech side Slavia Prague (151.00) could not have had a tougher draw but will be happy to travel to and host these big sides. 

Champions League Group G Standings and Fixtures

Quite possibly the most balanced group with German side RB Leipzig (3.00) starting as slight favourites after their electrifying start to the Bundesliga season. French side Lyon (3.25) and Portuguese giants Benfica (3.25) are on par. Both sides changed a lot over the summer as it has become customary, with Europe’s elite clubs picking their most talented youngsters every summer. Russian Champions Zenit St. Petersburg (6.00) complete the group, with the rest of the sides all dreading the cold away trips to Russia in winter. 

Champions League Group H Standings and Fixtures

Chelsea (1.75) see themselves as favourites to win Group H, despite their shaky start to the season under new manager Lampard. Dutch Champions Ajax (4.00) come next, as once again they are expected to go far in this competition despite losing De Ligt and De Jong in the summer. Spanish side Valencia (4.50) follow suit with French side Lille (15.00), who have lost Pepe to Arsenal during the last transfer window, completing the group.
