UFC FN Holm V Correia Betting Tips

The UFC heads back to Asia for Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 111: Holm vs. Correia card. Holly Holm, the first fighter to stop Ronda Rousey, is the big star on the card. The former title holder tries to get back on track with a win after losing her last three bouts. Bethe Correia, a former title challenger, on the other hand will attempt to out-brawl the American boxer in the main event.

Let’s take a closer look at the card going down in Kallang, Singapore.

Early Prelim Card

Ji Yeon Kim (6-0-2) V Lucie Pudilova (6-2-0)

Pudilova made her UFC debut on just a few days notice, but now in her second fight the Czech will be ready for her Korean opponent. Kim will be making her pro debut, and have a big step up in competition as she beat a Chinese fighter with a 0 win and 5 loss record before getting her call to the big leagues. Pudilova has decent striking and that should be enough for her first Octagon win.

Naoki Inoue (10-0-0) V Carls John De Tomas (6-0-0)

Two undefeated fighters will clash early in this matchup. 19-year-old Inoue will face 20-year-old “Golden Boy” will have their chance to show the world that they have the potential to be the future of Asian flyweight talents.

Prelim Card

Kwan Ho Kwak (9-1-0) V Russell Doane (14-7-0)

Somehow Doane is still in the UFC after losing four consecutive fights. However, the Hawaiin will get one more shot against a South Korean fighter Kwak. Both fighters have an entertaining style, but I think if Doane is more strategic can use his length and wrestling to stay away from the power of Kwak.

Li Jingliang (12-4-0) V Frank Camacho (20-4-0)

Camacho will make his UFC debut on just a few days notice. The long-time PXC veteran and title holder will face Jingliang has a two fight winning streak in the UFC. I like Li to get the job done here in Singapore.

Justin Scoggins (11-3-0) V Yuta Ulka Sasaki (19-4-2)

Scoggins should have the upper hand against Sasaki that has now lost three of his last four fights. While Scoggins did lose his last bout, his recent victory of top contender Ray Borg shows that he is a level above his Japanese opposition.

Alex Caceres (12-10-0) V Rolando Gabriel DY (8-4-1)

“Bruce Leeroy” is a tough fight for anybody, especially on short notice. Gabriel was a very late addition to the card, and he will be in trouble against the well rounded Caceres. Alex should get a submission once the bout hits the mat.

Cyril Asker (8-2-0) V Walt Harris (9-5-0)

“The Big Ticket” Harris has alternated wins and losses in his last six bouts and is due for a loss if the trend continues. For a French fighter, Asker has very impressive ground skills. This should be interesting on the feet while it lasts, and the southpaw stance of Harris could surprise Asker.

Takanori Gomi (35-12-0) V Jon Tuck (9-4-0)

One of the greatest lightweights “The Fireball Kid” will try and bring life in his fading career in the final prelim. Gomi has lost three straight fights with his last win coming three years ago. Tuck has lost two close fights with back-to-back decision losses. Norman Parke was able to land good punches with his southpaw stance, and Gomi has a punchers chance of landing some leather on Tuck.

Main Card

Tarec Saffiedine (16-6-0) V Rafael Dos Anjos (25-9-0)

Former UFC lightweight champion Dos Anjos will move up to the welterweight division for a showdown with Saffiedine. The Brazilian was on top of the world when he beat Anthony Pettis back in 2015 to get the belt. However he has two loses in a row, with him searching for answers in a new weight class. Saffiedine has a belt to his credit, holding the Strikeforce before joining the UFC. This fight should be a standup war and a good opportunity for Dos Anjos to show he can be a contender in the new division, but it will not be easy against the durable striker

Dong Hyun Kim (22-3-1) V Colby Covington (11-1-0)

Kim and Covington will both be looking for their fourth straight wins as they battle in Singapore in this much anticipated matchup. “Stun Gun’s” only loss in his last seven fights was to current welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Covington is an All-American wrestler, and this should give him the advantage to keep the fight standing or on the ground. Kim has a history of getting tired, and I like the American’s chances for a dominant win late.

Andrei Arlovski (25-14-0) V Marcin Tybura (15-2-0)

“The Pit Bull’s” recent career has been up and down. The former champion won six straight fights between 2013-2015, but has now hit a four fight losing streak. The list of loses however are the best in the world, including Miocic, Overeem, Barnett, and most recently Ngannou. The relatively unknown Tybura will look for a breakthrough win following up wins over Viktor Pesta and Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira. With another old heavyweight at 43-years-old Mark Hunt winning last week, I’ll go with another established vet in Arlovski to KO Tybura in the co-headliner in an upset.

Holly Holm (10-3-0) V Bethe Correia (10-2-1)

Holm needs a win to stay relevant as she has lost three straight fights. The boxing champion and former bantamweight champion has the perfect opponent to help the American get back on track.

Correia likes to move forward and throw heavy punches. However, she is a shorter fighter with wider punches, and it will likely give the “The Preacher’s Daughter” target practice.

I like Holm to stop the Brazilian late in the fight after dominating the fight on the feet with counterpunching and kicks from range. The American is a big favorite in the main event.
