Barcelona’s latest La Liga win against Elche was arguably their most important yet under the tutelage of Xavi Hernandez, as they had to come from behind and turn the tie in a kind of match they previously dropped points in. The midfield combination of Busquets, De Jong and Pedri is working wonderfully, with Gavi the cherry on top of the cake for the Catalan tactician. Up top Ferran Torres is finding his feet in a Blaugrana shirt, Traore is up and running with Aubameyang rediscovering his goal-scoring form as well. Add Depay’s contribution from the bench and the availability of Dembele to that and you have a team on the up. Barcelona won’t win the league this season, but had Xavi Hernandez been in charge from the start, they would have been in with a shout.
